Three Classic D&D Video Games Return
Sometimes the best surprises come out of nowhere. This week two classic Dungeons & Dragons video games just dropped on Steam with a fresh coat of paint. Demon Stone takes you into the Forgotten Realms with a fighter, sorcerer, and rogue battling to set things right in a world of prophecy and magic. Then there is Dragonshard, an RTS set in the steampunk-flavored world of Eberron, mixing battlefield strategy with dungeon-delving hero missions.
Both run on modern systems, only need 2GB of RAM, and are perfect for those afternoons when you want a dose of D&D without gathering the whole group. Plus, Temple of Elemental Evil will be re-released in September, giving you even more old school adventures to sink your teeth into.
I use games like these to spark ideas for traps, quests, and hooks at the table. Sometimes a simple fetch quest in a video game becomes the seed for an entire tabletop session. Check them out, grab them while they are discounted, and tell me which one you will be playing first.
