Celebrating 15 years for this blog!
Today, I just noticed that 2024 marks the 15th anniversary of this blog, which has been around since 2009. That's 15 years of making posts and sharing my often silly opinions.
In 2009, I planted the seed of a blog on blogger.com. A seed that would grow into the mighty tree called tabletop gaming. It was a slow start, and I often didn't write as much as I'd like, but I certainly posted things as I thought of them.
Over time, I grew dissatisfied with the changes in rules on Blogger and the rumors that, even though you wrote the content, Google would actually own it if they wanted. So, I packed up my dice, my maps, my posts, and found a hosting provider, picking up "TheEvilDM.com" as my website.
It was a rough move because I wasn't sure how to do things in WordPress, but I soon overcame that and moved forward.
Here we are in 2024, with a great website, loaded with updates about my podcasts, my YouTube channel, and various projects I am working on.
I love what I do, and I do it all for fun, not for anything else. If one person walks away with an idea from something I talk about, I've done my job right. I've said that many times on the Roll For Initiative Podcast over the years when people asked why I don't promote Patreon or PayPal donations. I don't even like getting free products from people I interview because I feel like that's something they could be selling. A PDF watermarked is all I ever asked for. It's the right thing to do.
Anyhow, here's to another 15 years!
I appreciate every email, every like, every listen and every comment I get. The love and support over the years has been amazing. Thank you again.
