AD&D Spell Spotlight: Raise Dead
Raise Dead brings a character back if you meet the spellโs limits. The body must be whole. The time since death must be within one day per level of the cleric. The target makes a special Constitution save. On success, they return weak and must rest one day for each day they were dead. The spell does not replace missing parts at all!
Run the clock strict and keep recovery honest. If a limb is missing, make the party recover it or plan for Regeneration. If the time limit passes, shift to Resurrection. Use temple rules and penance when a good cleric casts the reverse. The spell stays powerful, the world stays consistent, and the rescue sessions feel earned.
