This blog is about gaming, but D&D is top on my list, from D&D 5e, Pathfinder to good old AD&D 1e (where my roots come from!). I'm an Evil DM, I have been for many years, to the point folks enjoy my games and style but fear things in game. Paranoia is great and fuels a lot of awesome roleplaying situations with characters in game. Have a question? Feel free to contact me for advice about 1e, 5e or Pathfinder - ASKTHEDM(@)THEEVILDM(.)COM

Taking it to the next level..
I enjoy the Oriental Adventures book for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First Edition and have played it quite a bit in my past, to the point my book is falling apart. In the past while running games out of this book, I've stepped it up or taken it to the next level by speaking in Japanese for Non-Player Characters. I've designed custom sheets for the game and even tried to supply the table with props for the game.
When I was living in New York, everytime we played, we ordered Japanese take out to help get in the mood of the game. I'd like to think the players enjoyed themselves as it helped really set the mood of the game that day, and helped them get in the frame of mind for some great roleplaying.
I know quite a few people dislike this book, because of various reasons, but I really enjoyed this book from the first game I played when I was kid, up to this day as a man. I know this game was redesigned for the 3rd Edition D&D, and I never used it, but the best thing came of the game, when it was turned into the Legend of the Five Rings. Great game, with an awesome system still being played by lots of people who enjoy this type of gaming.
Those that have been asking after hearing about it, here it is! The Actual play podcast for the Pocket Mimic Podcast, hosted by DM Vince, and his local face to face gaming group. Listen in as Vince weaves the strange tale of the World of Arkonis, a homebrew world with wacky NPC characters, mystery and people to save! The cast of characters is a bunch of characters! We all are friends in real life, so we don't take things too serious, and Vince runs his game with an "old school style" with DM Adjudications, instead of spending time flipping through the book. A Dungeon Master Rules the game, not the other way around when you play, remember that and your games will be 100% better.
As of this posting, we have 5 episodes to listen to and you can download it directly by going to Roll High or Die! Website or use one of your favorite podcast app catchers, such as iTunes, Google play or just subscribe on Android!

This adventure (well I want to call it a side quest, because I can see my group blowing through this 7 room adventure in like an hour or less) is awesome and highly recommended to pick up.
The first 3 pages is packed with description of each of the rooms along with how to incorporate this into your game.
The descriptions are enough if you want add a thing or two he…
I was looking around on the web for better character sheets and these images came up in the google browser. I am not sure who did these and I take no credit for them, but its a really detailed explanation & break down of how to fill out a character sheet for 5e. I know sometimes its not easy filling out these sheets and this break down really helps with each spot on there, especially if you are brand new to the game.
